We all have times when we feel “stuck” in our lives. Whether we’re in a dead-end job, or an unsatisfying relationship, there are times when it can be difficult to create change, despite the truism that change is inevitable.
Change may be inevitable, but many times, change is slow. And if it happens to be in the form of pressure pushing you harder and harder into some sort of clog, then that’s when it is possible to feel stuck.
Yoga philosophy tells us that our experience of life happens all through our mind. And so, focus on changing the mind and perception of our situation is more important to a yogi than literally changing our situation.
Therefore, in order to train our minds how to avoid getting “stuck” in a mental clog, we’ll use our body to practice what being unstuck feels like. Our focus this week will be to move and flow through several Sun Salutation-esque sequences on our way to the asanas.
In addition to flow sequences, highlights of the class will include: numerous twists, and hammock-assisted one-arm(!) balances.
