Deeper Description

So much of what I see on the internet is how divided people currently are; the natural tendency of humans to polarize has reached an enormous level of division. Is it even possible to cross the divide and bring neighbors back together with neighbors?

Well, yogis are experts at bringing together and balancing two opposites. And so, if anyone can do it, it’s a yogi!

In this class, we’ll explore the oft paired Cow pose and Cat pose, from many different angles. The spine bends to one extreme in Cow pose, and the opposite extreme in Cat pose. Through repetition of the two positions, the spine finds more flexibility and a more extreme difference between the two poses, which might seem antithesis to our goal of bringing two opposites together. However, exploration of these two extremes also brings deeper, more expansive breaths. The longer, deeper breaths we enjoy, the calmer the mind becomes. And when the mind calms and settles, it becomes more creative – more able to see solutions to long-standing problems.

I often see TikTok videos of cows and cats becoming friends. If they can create interspecies friendships, certainly we can find a way to reconnect within the same species?
