Deeper Description

Some people practice asanas to gain flexibility. Others practice to gain strength. Me? I practice asanas to align my body. When the body is aligned, the kinetic movements and static positions of daily life don’t create pain. Really, my goal is pretty simple.

Many times, people associate “simple” with “boring.” But when it comes to the practice of yoga, the richest of worlds open up to you after you spend many hours on the simple task of observing the breath.

Have you ever met someone who tries so hard to be entertaining, or the life of the party, that they wind up being annoying? Your mind is like that person – it spends all day entertaining itself, when all it really needed to do was get quiet and sit still in order to feel joy and happiness.

This class will be both simple, and familiar, so that you can focus on observing the flow of breath. If you’re already familiar with Unnata Aerial Yoga classes, you’ll experience familiar items such as: Inside the hammock seated positions, Rib Hang Warrior 2, Back Straddle; and drops of new items sprinkled throughout the class, such as: Standing Twist with a Hip Stretch, Pasasana, Rolling into and out of Back Straddle, to help quiet the restless mind.
