Inside Hammock Feet

Deeper Description

Gravity pushes objects from the sky down towards the ground. And, we usually use the hammock to take advantage of gravity’s strong force to decompress and create more space in our spines. But, what if we feel spread too thin? What if our core feels too weak, and anxiety has us currently feeling like we just can’t get our footing, like we are standing on shifting sands, so to speak?

Too much of being pulled apart can cause us to feel ungrounded, unsettled and unstable. On days when I feel this way, I like to bring the ground with me into the hammock.

In this class, I’ll mix in a lot of activity for the legs, especially pressing through the feet in all sorts of yoga positions, not just standing poses. By focusing on the feet, we’ll stimulate our root chakra to help us connect to stability in both the body and the mind. And, we’ll bring the ground with us into the air. How can the ground be brought into the air?

When we see all is energy, the impossible becomes possible.

Highlights of this class will include: Both right side up and upside down Pigeon Poses, Standing on the Ground and in the Air, and Yogi Nidrasana (Sleeping Yogi).
